I Got a Raise!
Woo-hoo! My pay jumped from 7.50 to 7.75 per hour! Minimum wage went up by ten cents this summer but my pay went up by twenty five cents. Dang....this just goes to show that if you work hard corporate America will still reward you!

Wage Slave
Getting 7.50 hr mostly to clean and unclog toilets, and I suppose I should be grateful. At least I have a job, right? I think I'm going to quit anyway, and return to self-exploitation; the security of a pathetic paycheck every two weeks is now worth the crap I put up with, not to mention how brain dead I am at the end of every day.
As badly as I'm whining and bitching here, I still do not envy my white-collar brothers and sisters, I don't think any amount of money would be putting up with office politics and dressing up "professionally" every day, to suck up to some asshole with a white shirt and red tie, to be as expendable as everyone else and for what?
(I've been perusing Barbara Ehrenreich's "Bait and Switch," the white collar version of her "Nickel and Dimed" epic)
Mainly I'm sick of all these people who believe in the "protestant ethic" and the warped conservative interpretations of Ayn Rand, which is all kind of like believing in Santa Claus ("Good girls and boys get good things, bad girls and boys get nothing") People fuck up other people's lives and finances, wreck their own places of employment and the rest of the economy along with them, and get bailouts and bonuses.
Fraud and coercion, not free trade, is the dominant ethic of these slimeballs. Yes hard work will get results, but chances are, if you you're not getting paid, someone else is, and laughing at you so hard that they piss their pants.
